YSP Book Club – FAQ

1. What is the YSP Book Club?
The YSP Book Club is a community-based reading group hosted by Yazzabear Self-Publishing Press. We read a mix of classic, contemporary, and underrepresented literature, and meet to talk story, structure, and themes that resonate with our lives and creative work.

2. Who can join?
Anyone! It’s open to all adults — readers, writers, students, and curious minds. No prior experience needed. If you love books and thoughtful conversation, you're welcome here.

3. How often do you meet? Where do meetings happen?
Right now, we stay connected through our Discord server in an informal, ongoing conversation about the current book. We’re planning to host in-person meetups if there’s enough interest, so stay tuned and let us know if you’d like to gather in real life!

4. What kinds of books do you read?
We explore a wide range — from literary classics to radical texts, translated works, and contemporary fiction that speaks to identity, justice, and imagination. Send us in a suggestion!

5. Is there a cost to join?
No. All YSP programs are free to attend. If you’d like to donate to help sustain the club, you can via Venmo @yazzabearpress — but it’s never required.

6. Do I need to finish the book to attend?
Not at all. Come as you are, even if you’re a few chapters in or just want to listen. The space is casual and welcoming.

7. Can I help choose future books?
Yes! We love community input. We often take suggestions and vote on upcoming selections together.

8. How can I stay updated?
A: Follow us on IG @yazzabearpress, visit yazzabearpress.org, or sign up for our newsletter for book announcements and meeting details.
